I am pulling out all of my files. And am trying to find Margaret
Bierschwale's info. (she is the lady that was searching for the connection
between her family and D.J. and Thomas and was killed in an auto accident )
Her grandmother was Elizabeth Woodlief Tucker, had been married to an
Overton. Originally from Va., right now I am reading a letter that Margaret
wrote to a Mr. Price in Rogersville, Tenn., then her family moved to La. and
then to Texas. This is from memory, as her sister gave me stacks

Ann,
Is this the Cornelius from Elizabeth Kerman's genealogy of the Woodliefs
that she shows (pgs 166 & 169) dying in the Civil War "ca 1865," and
then marrying 2 years later on 30 Oct 1867 "in NC" ? (marriage post
mortem? ) As far as I know, no one has been able to find that
Several Woodliefs have married Overtons. Must have been close.
Cornelius Woodlief married Mary Overton, before he was killed in the
Civil War. His mother was also an Overton (married to Thomas). William
Hilliard Woodlief married Amy Abigail Overton in 1862, the daughter of
James Overton. I would be interested in knowing more about this
family, if it's in your material.

Listers,
Can anyone identify a Paul B. Woodlief, born ca 1843 in Louisiana?
He is enumerated in 1930 in the Bexar County, Texas, census, in the
Bexar County Home for the Aged. He's listed as widowed, so he apparently
did have a wife - don't know about any children.
His father is shown as born in VA, mother born Louisiana.
The thing is, this fella is 87 in 1930, so b ca 1843, but for the life
of me I cannot seem to locate him in ANY other census.
I'm hoping someone on the list can help.
Thanks,
Sandy
