1. Re: [WV-WAGS] Help with photo ID [1]
In a message dated 10/21/2005 6:45:20 PM Central Daylight Time, g.ripley@comcast.net writes: , by a photographer shop that looks like Connel or Connil. Could SKS take a look at Wheeling City Directories to see when this shop was in business. My own notes about the Wheeling photographers indicate that Connel Studio was not found in the City Directory for 1900 but was found in 1903. It was still found in 1912 but was not found in 1920. In other words, I have the photographer info for 1900, 1903, 1912
2. Help with photo ID [1]
I have just acquired a photo taken in Wheeling, WV, by a photographer shop that looks like Connel or Connil. Could SKS take a look at Wheeling City Directories to see when this shop was in business. The lady in the photo is wearing clothing that would seem to be late 1860 to 1880. I suspect it is my Great Great Grandmother, Ann Waterhouse Ripley, who passed away in Nov 1882, but can't be sure, because there is no ID. My grandfather had a half-brother named Bayard McClean ( b. @ 1870) who died in infancy. I am interested in how this Roberts family might be connected to the McCleans. Also looking for McClean chapel built about 1887 near Moundsville Martha
