I cannot even begin to express my bountiful thanks for all the valuable information, support, caring and sharing of experiences that so many wonderful people on these lists have generously given to me and my family regarding my search for my father's bith information and family. 10. The story of Oliver has nothin on my dad's adoption!! [0.987632]
Ok all you wonderful people in that place called 'Almost Heaven!" Here is the latest craziness on the story of my search for my dad's birth family. A nice lady named Jane looked up the 1920 Boone County Census, Sherman District and found a family whose surname is hard to make out but she thinks it may be Carone/Carows/Cameron or Carrow. Yes, we are guessing! lol This family list several children and at the bottom of the list for that family (but it begins the next page in the census book pp20-21) is a re

The only other info I have is that Bill had a sister named Minnie Waters who m.Otto Kirk. They are listed in the 1920 census with two childrem; William F. and Clyde, ages 5 and 2.5 years. I have memories of Aunt Minnie, but not her husband, coming to visit when I was a child. I have a little more on each of these families (and the Halsteads) thanks

13. Sirring Mom's memories of Dad's adoption [0.987632]
Reference: adoption of Herman Foster Waters All of these new facts and potentialities seem to be stirring my mom's memories abt my dad's adoption. We just spoke by phone again and here is what she has remembered... When Bill (Isaac Wm.) & Julia Halstead Waters went down to the Union Mission in Charleston they were greeted by a lady who took them to see the kids available and then when my (adopted) grandpa saw my dad, he said that is the one we want. My mom said that she remembers now that grandma & grandp
