That river was easy to cross - only 1 foot to 6" high during the summer droughts until the locks and dams were built in around 1912. Please consider taking a few minutes of your time and visiting our site: Jefferson County Chapter, OGS http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohjefogs The page was updated on 18 Feb 1998 in the following catagories: Collection: Family Genealogies Data to Browse: Names of Pl
4. Getting to know our list family [1]
Hi Everyone! Since the list is a little slow moving, why don't we all take a minute to post the surnames in our families from Hancock county? The number of subscribers to the list continues to grow and this way you can see who else is working on your surnames. My own family did not settle here until 1913, but the names I have in this area are RINE/RYAN, ARMSTRONG, HULDERMAN, CANTER, and STUMP. Will gladly share all that I have. I also have a decent amount of information on the STEWART family (so does

In 1830 Decatur county Indiana there is a William WILLIAMSON age 20-30. Living nearby was a John CRITZER. Furthermore, an 1850 fulton county Indinia marriage record reports a marriage between James E. WILLIAMSON and Jane CRITESER. I would like to strengthen the tie between the WILLIAMSON family of Brooke county with the WILLIAM

Hello Everyone, My surnames are Reed/Reid and Deimer/Demer. I've gotten as far back as Elijah Reid and wife Hattie and Adam Demer and wife Margaret with the help of a very kind look up person on your page. I don't know the wives maiden names, but that's something to search for in the future. I do have John C. Reed's (son of Elijah) Civil War Record and to say the least, it's quite interesting.
