Don't know, but this Joseph (age 32) in the 1860 census appears to be
unmarried at the time, as he is listed as constable and lives with the
family of Nicholas & Martha F. Wilson who are about his age. Likewise,
Robert A. Hannah, 26, is a trader living with the family of John A. & Hulda
H. McGlaughlin, also in their early 30s.
The 1850 Poca. census shows David & M
Robert A. Hannah (Hanna)
Pvt. Co. F., 19th Virginia Cavalry.
b. c. 1834.
Age 26, trader, Huntersville, Pocohontas Co., W. Va.
1860 census.
Prior service, 2nd Co. I, 25th Va. Inf. and McNeel's Co., VSL.
Enl. Hillsboro, Pocahontas Co., W. Va., 3/9/63.
Not stated if present or absent on muster-in roll dated 3/63.
Returned to 2nd Co. I, 25th Va. Inf.
Moved west after the war.

Thank you for the Hannah info, Holly. Especially the census info to back
up Price's work. It gives me better dates to search.
It also tells me that the following Hannahs from Pocahontas County were not
the "Joseph" of David and Hester; he'd be too young to be a Civil War
soldier:
HANNAH:
Joseph W., Sgt., Co. C, 19th VA C
Robert A., Pvt, Co. I, 25th VA
Does anyone know which Hannahs the above Pocahontas Co. soldiers were?
Thanks,
Autumn

My ggg-grandparents were David Hannah and Hester Sicafoose (David son of Joseph Hannah and Elizabeth Burnsides). Their daughter, Malinda Hannah married John Rose, and they were my gg-grandparents. Who were Malinda's siblings (the other children of David Hannah and Hester Sicafoose)?

Thanks for the reply. I don't have a birthdate for Malinda Hannah, however,
she married John Rose and John was born in 1853. Malinda Hannah was
daughter of David Hannah, b. circa 1814, and Hester Sicafoose. I'd like to
find the names of all the children of David Hannah and Hester Sicafoose.

Autumn,
Price's "Historical Sketches of Pocahontas Co" gives the following children

Henry md. Margaret McClure and is a merchant at Renick's Valley,
Greenbrier Co (this was written in 1901)
Rev. George md. Leah Grimes and lived in Upshur Co (deceased)
Melinda md. John Rose and lives in Webster Co near the Randolph border
Mary md. Samuel Gibson and lived near the homestead
Otho and Joseph died young
