Seems like there was a tendency for related people or other groups travelling
together to be listed consecutively when they took the oaths at Philadelphia.
It certainly isn't proof, but the wide separation of the three Zimmermans in
the list for the 1749 Patience suggests they were not related.

Hello, everyone!
I believe I might have the information on the Zimmerman's of Lehigh County
that Lonnie was seeking (her inquiry passed along by Charles Fies) I have
the line of a Catherina aka Catherine "Kitty?" Anna Zimmerman, born August
05, 1834 in Weisenberg Township, died 1909.
This Lehigh County line of Zimmerman's were early settlers of Weisenberg
Township. Catherine was the daughter of George Zimmerman and Justina
Schaeffer. Her father George was the second son of Georg Wendel Zimmerman (b

This is another Donald Zimmerman. My GGGG Grandfather Johan Jost Zimmerman
was one of the 3 listed Zimmermans on that sailing of the Patience. We have
traced him back a couple of generations before to Siegen, Westphall
(Westphalia) which is east of Cologne. This was all done by Jay Norwalk of
Maine in writing our book. We certainly do want to know if Johan Peter and
Christian Zimmerman were related to Johan Jost.

Hi,
This is the first time I have done this, so bear with me. I am searching for
information on Benedict or Benjamin Zimmerman, b 1825 in Switzerland or
Germany.
He married Mary Vaught, Fought, Vogt in Tuscarawas Co in Ohio in 1847. First
son John was born in Ohio and remainder of family was born in Indiana as they
settled in Miami Co in Indiana cir 1850.
Has anyone heard of these Zimmermans?
Thanks

Hello, I am very new to the Zimmerman research so please, bare with me.
My 3rd GGF was John C. Carpenter b 1810 in SC by census records. It has
been passed down to us that we were Zimmermans from around Mainz ,
Germany before . Does anyone have anything at all on SC Carpenters who
were Zimmermans? I would appreciate very much any ideas on how to find
out more on this family. I believe John C Carpenter's father was perhaps
Willis Carpenter.
Thanks for reading my query, Pat

Is anyone on this mailing list working on his family line?

Hi,
I would draw your attention to "The History of Somerset, Bedford, and Fulton
Counties. A Michael Zimmerman is described in great detail. He was born in
Lancaster County and came to Quemahoning Township in 1784. He married
Elizabeth Kimmel and had nine children including a "Catherine". If you can
find a copy of the history read pages 501, 502, and 503 carefully. The
churches the Zimmermans attended are listed along with the early members
including several Zimmermans. Most important, I think, is the

I am, as you know from previous correspondence, but not very diligently right
now.

Our ancestors made researching them difficult by arriving so early! According
to Strassburger & Hinke, "Pennsylvania German Pioneers," the Patience carried
immigrants from "the Palatinate & Duchy of Wirtenberg." If we can
Hello! I'm also a lost Zimmerman descendant with no connection to the
Mother Land. My earliest Zimmerman ancestor that I'm aware of was my
gggrandfather Sidney Zimmerman m. Loretta "Rette" Harper in Cherokee County
NC in 1866. I've been told Sidney's father was also Sidney, and that his
father was James Carlile Zimmerman. However, I have been unable to confirm
this information. Anyone out there descended from this North Carolina
Zimmerman line?
Phil, Clay and list members,
I also am at a stone wall but I noticed a few possibilities listed herein. I am posting my
Family Tree Maker web site address so you may take a look at it and appraise it's worth as far
as you're concerned. I noticed that your John Zimmerman (Simmermon) and mine correspond
considerably, and a few others. The only one left out I would like to have seen was "Benjamin"
who is the only Zimmerman I have reference to. He was my 3/G Grandfather.
Anyway, see what you think.

Hi List and GW Zimmerman,
I am also a lost Zimmerman with no connection to the Mother
Land.
Looking for information on ALBERT ZIMMERMAN b. 1858 Baden
Baden, Germany.
Married LENA PRINZING b. 1870 Bayern, Germany. Don't know
when either of them came to America nor what ship they
arrived. They married in Brooklyn in 1898.
They are my paternal grandparents.
Hope this will ring a bell with someone.
Thanks

I have only 2 Zimmerman names in my family tree. A Catherine Zimmerman
1801-1886 m. Daniel Berkey, Jr. Her father was apparently a Jacob
Zimmerman. I have no dates for him, no wife's name, either. The Berkeys
lived in Somerset County, PA. Does anyone have a Zimmerman line that
includes Catherine and Jacob?
