You are correct to assume oo means married. As for the On-line Mormon records, perhaps you are expecting more information than is actually available. When you get to the site at: www.familysearch.org Click on search Put in the surname -- you can put in more but that doesn't always help. You will find that if you put in country, then you must have a first name. So I usually only use surname unless the surname is so common that I only want to read that i.e. John or so unusual I'm hoping to go right t

Hi Ann, I have some records that my cousin copied for me--they are the research of a Semlak resident of the Germans in Balmazujvaros, Adam Bartolf. I don't know how dependable they are, but this is what I found: He doesn't list any Jankos in the names in the records. However there is an Arwa Georg, Arwa Heinrich, and Arwa Martin (an acceptable spelling of Arva): Balmazujvaros: There is the birth of Georg to Heinrich Arwa on 7 Dec 1799\ * of Conrad to Arwa Martin on 10 Mar 1796 Birth of KAtharina to H

293. Re: [DVHH] Ruttinger Lookup in Gajdobra OSB [1]
Alice, Wow! I think you have stumbled across what I've been looking for. I do like to have independent confirmation of my facts (another record would be nice), but it looks like I can definitely use this as my starting point for further research. The fact that there is no further information in the Tscheb records after my gg-grandfather's birth (Anton), supports the facts that I have that he lived and married elsewhere (Mitrowitz). I did have a question about the wording in one section

Hello Kathy and all, yes, my familytrees are made with my familyresearch program Ahnenblatt (www.ahnenblatt.de) and then ammended them in a graphic program (red marks, elimination of data that is not to be published, export as transparent gif-file etc.). I also had to make two kinds of trees (one with data, one without) and then put them together in order to eliminate the data of living people in the graphic. It took me all day to make all my trees new. Kind regards, Annette ---------------------------
