HAWLEY, of Alabama, Genesee County who in March, 1865 arranged for a substitute for himself to serve in the Civil War. Can anyone tell me where the County Home is located? Whaat town? Supposedly a headstone was ordered for a PETER BRADY in 1887. I have written to the Bethany Town Clerk (where he lived in 1870), to the Batavia Town Clerk and the Genesee Historian as well as the Batavia Historian. Douglas & Subscribers: There is a copy of said document on Microfiche at the State of MI Library in Lansing, MI. It was copied by: University Microfilms International Ann Arbor, MI 48106 It consists of three fiche cards and 216 pages, the call number is LH2848 and it was copied in 1985.
