Her name should be Karter with a K. However, in order to blend better in society I suppose, he changed his name to Carter with a C. This same man also fought for the Confederacy. Those are my grandparents. Grandma Horton passed away from stomach cancer in the early 70's. 1974 if I remember correctly. Grandad passed away in 2003, also from cancer, he was 92.
