It's greatly appreciated. I had the info on James Legg and Ann Bickford's marriage and children's christening dates. That's all I've been able to locate on them. I've never been able to match James or Ann up on any of the UK Census or birth/death dates. I had a look at the 2 Turner babies but I doubt that they belong to my G-G-G-parents, Jane Ellen registered at Maitland NSW 1876. Susanna would have been aged 59 & Mary Evelyn registered at Warialda which is about 490 km from the Dungog NSW area. Susanna was aged 62. If I can help you any further with the turners or other families just let me know. All the best for the New Year, where 3.5 hours away from midnight. The 1st lot of fireworks are due to go off at 9.00 p.m. 30 mins away so I'll have to lock my dogs in. It depended. Many, however, did return. Some might have been "time served", others, escapees. It's a very interesting topic. Try: Babette Smith's recent "Australia's Birthstain". Smith has a great deal to say, but she does light on a few of these returnees. It IS possible, so "old lady" might not be so daft as you imagine.
