Hi Valerie

Thanks for the reply. What you said about some people being poor and therefore not having headstones makes sense. As my 4th Great Grandfather could of been in that situation and that is why there is no headstone, and the reason i am having problems locating the grave.

As i walked through the grave yard last week and did not find nearly as many graves as i thought i would. I must say some of the graves have been left go. Not sure if there is someone who looks after the park or not. There was one Grave which had an iron fence around it and the grave is starting to sink into the ground. It is such a shame. I did not get to go to the Pioneer Park at Liverpool due the weather starting to turn ugly. I went to Liverpool Libary instead. I found it quite interesting. They have a wider selection of books and materials compared to Campbelltown libary. I intend to go back there next week and research some more. I am also interested in attending the family history sesions they hold every 3rd Saturday of the month. I will also take you up on your suggestion and join Liverpool Genealogical Society.

Once again thankyou for your thoughts and help.

Best Wishes
Lisa

----- Original Message ----
From: "valdennis@optusnet.com.au" <valdennis@optusnet.com.au>
To: AUS-NSW-LIVERPOOL@rootsweb.com
Sent: Wednesday, 28 February, 2007 5:24:56 PM
Subject: [AUS-NSW-LIVERPOOL] Samuel Marsden

Hi Lisa,

I enjoyed reading your email and it wasn't too long.

Just a couple of points that I hope can help:

I have two ancestors buried at St Luke's Cemetary/Pioneer Park also. I am planning on going back there again sometime soon. If anyone out there has descendants buried there that you would like me to look for i am happy to do so. I am also thinking of taking my camera and getting a picture of the graves. Some of the graves are in a very bad state, and the inscription on the head stone are very hard to read.

Sorry for the really long email.

Best Wishes
Lisa

Send instant messages to your online friends http://au.messenger.yahoo.com
