All were born in Beccles, SFK. Here are their DOBs: Thomas born 11 Sept 1821, died 1866, married and lived in Stockport, Cheshire. Clay pipe maker. Benjamin born 9 March 1823, possibly died as an infant. Samuel born c.1825, died 16 April 1897, Married and lived as butcher in Beccles. Married again on death of first wife and was publican in Dedham, Essex. Lydia Elizabeth born 1831, married and lived and died in Great Yarmouth, NFK date unknown. William born 1833, disappeared after 1861 Census when he was in unmarried in Heigham, Norwich. May have gone to America. Henry born 9 May 1836, married and went to live in Yorkshire as a miner, date of death unknown. Harriet Ann born 30 July 1837, married and went to live in Mutford, SFK, date of death unknown. Sarah born 29 November 1842, married and was the only one who remained in Beccles. Died 9 March 1908. Does it ring any bells? His wife Sarah Brooks was born in Arminghall just outside Norwich, and they married in Beccles, Suffolk - just across the county border with Norfolk in 1821. Both he and Sarah said they were not born in Suffolk in the 1841 census and he died before the 1851 census which would have given his place of birth. Sarah survived for 3 subsequent censuses giving Arminghall as her birthplace. I was unable to find a Thomas Barnard in born in Arminghall. If anyone comes across a likely entry I would be grateful for any information.
