Clean up day at the Bilyeu Den Cemetery is set for May 10, 2008 from 9:00 AM - till done. Alternate Rain Day will be May 17, 2008 - same times. So far we have lucked out and have had nicer weather - on the first day set - sometimes it will drizzle but we keep working anyway. The cemetery upkeep is all volunteer workers to keep this cemetery in great shape. We appreciate all of those that can come and work either on the day of clean up or any time at their convenience. Have anyone interested in the cemetery please have them contact me at my email address or snail mail address (See below) For general information on upkeep of cemetery: Gail and Ruthee Bates have for years taken care of the flowers that have seen better days especially after Memorial Day. They spend several hours each year taking care to make sure the cemetery stays looking nice. Evelyn Teigen takes care of the flower vases. She collects them each year after Memorial day. Sanitizes them - sets them out in sun to dry and then stores them until the next year. This year due to health problems Evelyn will not be able to help. Some one else will take this chore over for 2008. Delores (Burton) Stavang has been Treasurer for the Association for 24 years now. She maintains the bank records, Keeps the records of the burials there and gets the flags out on the veterans graves at Memorial Day. Carl Stavang - takes care of all that needs to be done - Especially the measurements of the spaces when there is to be a burial there and headstone set. And I am sure there are other items he takes care of when the need arises. Karlene (Burton) Santibanez (That's Me) - I cannot remember just how long I have been secretary but several years now. Board Members for this year. Doug Shelton - President Gail Bates - Vice President Patsy (Bates) Music Scott James (Past President for several years now) Evelyn Teigen. The Secretary and Treasurer are not board members. We just have to do most of the work. :: This is how the by-laws were set up years ago. Only a 5 members on the board. He has enlisted the help of 3 others this year to help with mowing which is not an easy job as the ground is not even.
