Thanks so much for the help, Roberta! I'll look forward to getting
home and following up!

I have two photos taken in St. Austell. I know the identity of one of
the individuals -- Richard Cleife Yeates, a baby. The other photo was
taken in a different studio an is identified as Mrs. Yeates, paternal
grandmother to the baby, Richard Cleife Yeates. I'll post the photos
to the other group. If you have other thoughts, Please let me know.

Thanks again!

Jennifer
Jennifer

On 12/19/08, Roberta-CC <cornwallconnections@peeples.com> wrote:
> Hello Jennifer,
>
> Welcome! You'll have to use the Soundex or phonetic
> search for this family. (Not all phonetic searches include the same
> variations, so you may need to cross check for your most common
> variations. ) Options that come up in the FreeCEN system are Cleave, Cliff,
> Clive, even Calf, etc.
>
> If you do a phonetic search in FreeCEN in the 1841 Census, you'll find a
> Mary Cleave, age 75, born Cornwall, living in Biscovey, St.Blazey. Living
> with her are Mary Ray age 10 and James Ray age 4, which suggests you're on
> the right track.
>
> There's also a James & Elizabeth Cliff living with their children in
> St.Blazey that may be of interest to you.
>
> It looks like James and Elizabeth Ray are living in St. Blazey Village in
> 1841 with children Richard 13 and Elizabeth 8 months.
