Saylors&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Lynette Doris Saylors, 96, of Marysville died March 24, 1995, at Rideout &#x3C;BR&#x3E;Memorial Hospital. A native of Marysville, she was a Yuba-Sutter resident for &#x3C;BR&#x3E;most of her life. She worked in the millinery department of Bradley's &#x3C;BR&#x3E;department store in Marysville. Survivors include a nephew, Richard A. &#x3C;BR&#x3E;McPherrin of Yuba City; and two nieces, Betty Mandery and Virginia Lauff, both &#x3C;BR&#x3E;of Marysville. She was preceded in death by her husband, John &#x22;Beford&#x22; Saylors &#x3C;BR&#x3E;and a sister, Berthilde McPherrin. Services: a graveside service is scheduled &#x3C;BR&#x3E;at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Sierra View Memorial Park. The Rev. A native of Covelo, he &#x3C;BR&#x3E;resided there most of his life. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and &#x3C;BR&#x3E;the recipient of the Purple Heart. During the war, he spent several months as &#x3C;BR&#x3E;a prisoner of war in Japan. He worked for the Inter-Tribal Council of Northern &#x3C;BR&#x3E;California in Sacramento. He is survived by son, Vermal Hoaglen of Sacramento; &#x3C;BR&#x3E;a daughter, Sandra Gunter of Fresno; his parents, Mr and Mrs Acie Hoaglen of &#x3C;BR&#x3E;Covelo; four brothers, Frank Hoaglen of Calpella, Arvid Hoaglen of Chiliquin, &#x3C;BR&#x3E;Ore., Jerry Hoaglen of Westwood and Acie Hoaglen Jr., of Ukiah. Four sisters, &#x3C;BR&#x3E;Rudy Arms of Cloverdale, Elaine Holmes of Potter Valley, Charlotte Wright of &#x3C;BR&#x3E;Willits and Wilma Phillips of Laytonville, Eight grandchildren and numerous &#x3C;BR&#x3E;nieces and nephews also survive. Friends may call at Anker-Lucier Mortuary on &#x3C;BR&#x3E;Thursday, Nov. 13 after 12 noon. Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 14, at &#x3C;BR&#x3E;11 a.m. in the chapel of Anker-Lucier Mortuary with Rev. W. J. Forsyth &#x3C;BR&#x3E;officiating. She was a member &#x3C;BR&#x3E;of the Yuba City Women's Club, Literacy Guild, Yuba-Sutter Riding Club, Yuba &#x3C;BR&#x3E;City First Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star in Phoenix, Ariz. &#x3C;BR&#x3E;Survivors include a son, Harland Howard of Yuba City; three grandchildren, &#x3C;BR&#x3E;Dorothea Elizabeth Howard, David Harlan Howard and Butch Harland Howard, all &#x3C;BR&#x3E;of Yuba City; and a great-grandson. She was the widow of the Hershel H. &#x3C;BR&#x3E;Howard. Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Sutter &#x3C;BR&#x3E;Cemetery with Rev. Edgar Nelson, pastor of the Yuba City First Methodist &#x3C;BR&#x3E;Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ullrey Memorial &#x3C;BR&#x3E;Chapel. The ashes will be returned to Mariposa to be placed beside those of &#x3C;BR&#x3E;her husband, whose grave is in the Masonic cemetery.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Mrs. Boysen had been a resident of Yosemite Valley for 44 years.  She, with two &#x3C;BR&#x3E;girl companions, came to Yosemite in 1899 from San Francisco, where she was a &#x3C;BR&#x3E;teacher.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Pictures she had taken in the valley were taken to the Boysen studio for &#x3C;BR&#x3E;developing and here was where the romance began that resulted in her marriage &#x3C;BR&#x3E;to Julius T. Boysen in 1900.  They were married in Lemoore, the home of her &#x3C;BR&#x3E;parents.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Mr. Boysen died in May, 1939, and since that time Mrs. Boysen had carried on &#x3C;BR&#x3E;the photographic work in the Valley.  She had been in excellent health up until &#x3C;BR&#x3E;her death.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Ellen St. Clair, and two granddaughters, of &#x3C;BR&#x3E;Sacramento.&#x94;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Additional Comments:&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x22;Mariposa Gazette&#x22; (Mariposa, California. Phillips was a native of Meshoppen, &#x3C;BR&#x3E;Penn, and had been a resident of Wheatland for the past 45 years. He lived at &#x3C;BR&#x3E;111 Fourth Street. He had been a land leveling contractor in the 1940's and &#x3C;BR&#x3E;early 1950's until he had to give up the contracting business because of &#x3C;BR&#x3E;failing health. He continued to operate heavy equipment until January. From &#x3C;BR&#x3E;1916 to 1925, Phillips had operated a garage in Wheatland and later had owned a &#x3C;BR&#x3E;peach orchard which is now the Whitney Warren ranch. He had retained other &#x3C;BR&#x3E;farming interests along with his contracting business. Phillips had operated &#x3C;BR&#x3E;one of the first tractors in the Wheatland area. He had been a member of the &#x3C;BR&#x3E;operating engineer's local No. 3 in Marysville for 32 years and was a member of &#x3C;BR&#x3E;the Wheatland Lions Club. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Dam Phillips: &#x3C;BR&#x3E;three sons, Arthur of Los Angeles, Stewart of Sacramento and Eugene of Chico; &#x3C;BR&#x3E;two daughters, Mrs Elaine Tarke of Meridian and Elizabeth Phillips of &#x3C;BR&#x3E;Wheatland; one brother, Stewart Phillips, Pennsylvania; and two sisters, Mrs &#x3C;BR&#x3E;Evangeline Farr and Mrs Harriet Cole, Pennsylvania and four grandsons. Funeral &#x3C;BR&#x3E;services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Hutchison's Colonial Chapel with &#x3C;BR&#x3E;Rev. A California native she had lived in Sutter Co since 1911. She &#x3C;BR&#x3E;was a teacher at Slough and Meridian schools and was employed as a supervisor &#x3C;BR&#x3E;for Sutter and Colusa school districts until her retirement in 1973. She is &#x3C;BR&#x3E;survived by a son, Henry Campbell of Live Oak; five great grandchildren. &#x3C;BR&#x3E;Visitation will be Tuesday and Wednesday at McNary Memorial Chapel.
