<title>[COCHRANE] Mary St-Louis &#x26; Richard Morgan</title>
<link>http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/read/CAN-ONT-COCHRANE/2008-12/1229603648</link>
<description>Merry Xmas everyone,&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;I am looking for information on Marie (Mary) St-Louis married to Richard&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Morgan 13 Sept. 1899 in Depot Harbour, Nipissing District.  The couple had&#x3C;BR&#x3E;three children: Jovitte, Aileen (married to Reginald Walker in Timmins on 15&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Oct. 1930)  and Olive (married to a man whose last name was Lake).&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Mary was born in Renfrew County on 8 Oct. 1876.  She was the daughter of&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Charles St-Louis and Julie Bourguignon who were born and married in Renfrew&#x3C;BR&#x3E;County.  I have found the Morgan family in Diamond Twp., Nipissing District&#x3C;BR&#x3E;(1911 Census).  At some point, the couple separated and Mary ended up in&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Timmins where she lived on Commercial Ave. with her sister Elizabeth who was&#x3C;BR&#x3E;born 17 Jan. 1881.  I was born in 1955 and remember &#x22;Aunt Lizzie&#x22;  who was&#x3C;BR&#x3E;deaf and mute.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Mary was the sister of my grandmother, Regina St-Louis Villeneuve, and I&#x3C;BR&#x3E;would like to add to this branch of my family tree.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Sincere thanks to anyone who can help.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Lise Villeneuve Hebert&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Timmins, ON&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;

<title>[COCHRANE] Christmas queries.</title>
<link>http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/read/CAN-ONT-COCHRANE/2008-12/1229216420</link>
<description>Dear Folks:&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;1.   It will become a Christmas tradition on the lists I administer, to&#x3C;BR&#x3E;allow subscribers to send a query on the ancestor or family they are&#x3C;BR&#x3E;researching.  Some may call this practice a Roll Call.  I call it &#x22;looking&#x3C;BR&#x3E;for information on our ancestors&#x22;....!!! &#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;We subscribed to the list to hopefully find ANY reference to the family we&#x3C;BR&#x3E;are researching.  Therefore it is logical that we post the known information&#x3C;BR&#x3E;on our ancestor and make a query to the list members on the information&#x3C;BR&#x3E;being looked for, to further our database along.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;2.   Some of these mailing lists have been in operation for almost 10 years&#x3C;BR&#x3E;and recently they have died off for whatever reasons.  Hopefully this&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Christmas tradition will help you break down your brick walls; thereby&#x3C;BR&#x3E;taking advantage of this excellent free research vehicle.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;3.   I only ask that folks post comprehensive queries.  Place the surname of&#x3C;BR&#x3E;your ancestor in the subject line and provide as much information as you can&#x3C;BR&#x3E;in your message.  If you get a response please take any further exclusive&#x3C;BR&#x3E;discussions offlist.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Merry Christmas to everyone and all the best in 2009.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Bye for now.......Murray Pletsch       &#x3C;BR&#x3E;List Administator&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;

Over the past 8 years I have been asked by Out-Of-Province folks, &#x22;If&#x3C;BR&#x3E;I photographed local cemeteries, can I send the pictures to you and have&#x3C;BR&#x3E;them placed online?&#x22;  At the time, I told these folks that I was&#x3C;BR&#x3E;concentrating only on Northern Ontario.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;2.    However, I have now built a National website: http://gravemarkers.ca&#x3C;BR&#x3E;.....!  On this new site I can accommodate photographs of complete&#x3C;BR&#x3E;cemeteries from anywhere in Canada.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;3.    If you have family or friends across Canada who may be interested in&#x3C;BR&#x3E;photographing their local cemeteries, please pass on this information.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;4.    If you are interested in your local cemeteries going online, please&#x3C;BR&#x3E;contact me at: mailto:murray@gravemarkers.ca or mailto:pletsch@cogeco.ca&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;NORTHERN ONTARIO GRAVEMARKER GALLERY.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;************************************&#x3C;BR&#x3E;1.    The Northern Ontario Gravemarker Gallery has 250,000  photographs&#x3C;BR&#x3E;online with more going online weekly.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;2.    Search Engines.  Please note that the Northern Ontario Gravemarker&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Gallery has it&#x27;s own search engine at this time. The Canadian Gravemarker&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Gallery has it&#x27;s own search engine currently.  The ultimate objective is to&#x3C;BR&#x3E;have the one search engine to index both websites and queries are being&#x3C;BR&#x3E;made.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;3.    The number of visitors to the Northern Ontario Gravemarker Gallery has&#x3C;BR&#x3E;exceeded 500,000 visits....which is significant when you consider the&#x3C;BR&#x3E;majority of these visitors are family researchers.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;NORTHERN ONTARIO HISTORIC/NOSTALGIC WEBSITE.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*******************************************&#x3C;BR&#x3E;1.    Several visitors have asked about the research value of the&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Historic/Nostalgic website.  I explain that the yearbooks and classroom&#x3C;BR&#x3E;photos with names, place the student in a specific place and time; plus in&#x3C;BR&#x3E;most cases it will also place their parents in that specific place and time.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;2.    Please note that the *Northern Ontario Historic Photo Gallery* is&#x3C;BR&#x3E;online at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~cannor &#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;3.    Currently there are many yearbooks and class photos online for North&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Bay and other Northern Ontario communities.   &#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;******************************************************&#x3C;BR&#x3E;******************************************************&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;NORTHERN ONTARIO GRAVEMARKER GALLERY:&#x3C;BR&#x3E;************************************&#x3C;BR&#x3E;http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~murrayp&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;CANADIAN GRAVEMARKERS GALLERY:&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*****************************&#x3C;BR&#x3E;http://www.gravemarkers.ca&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;SUBSCRIBING TO THE WEBSITE UPDATES NEWSLETTER:&#x3C;BR&#x3E;********************************************&#x3C;BR&#x3E;To Subscribe to the Gravemarker Galleries Newsletter please go to the&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Website at:&#x3C;BR&#x3E;http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~murrayp and click on the &#x22;Join&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Updates Newsletter&#x22; button located just above the weather row.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;******************************************************&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;NOTES:&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*****&#x3C;BR&#x3E;1.    Cemeteries have spousal duplicated photographs.   This means a photo&#x3C;BR&#x3E;which has the spouse&#x27;s maiden name showing, is duplicated and when one&#x3C;BR&#x3E;searches for a surname, the spouse&#x27;s surname will be a separate &#x22;search&#x3C;BR&#x3E;result&#x22;.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;2.    The speed at which cemeteries are photographed depends mainly on the&#x3C;BR&#x3E;price of gas for our cars to reach distant cemeteries.  Should you wish to&#x3C;BR&#x3E;help out with this ongoing huge project, please contact Murray at&#x3C;BR&#x3E;mailto:murray@gravemarkers.ca&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*********************************************&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Bye for now...Murray&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Canadian Gravemarker Gallery - http://www.gravemarkers.ca&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;NorOnt Gravemarker Gallery - http://301url.com/gravemarkers&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;NorOnt Historic/Nostalgic Gallery - http://www.rootsweb.com/~cannor &#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;

On this new site I can accommodate photographs of complete&#x3C;BR&#x3E;cemeteries from anywhere in Canada.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;3.    If you have family or friends across Canada who may be interested in&#x3C;BR&#x3E;photographing their local cemeteries, please pass on this information.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;4.    If you are interested in your local cemeteries going online, please&#x3C;BR&#x3E;contact me at: mailto:murray@gravemarkers.ca or mailto:pletsch@cogeco.ca&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;NORTHERN ONTARIO GRAVEMARKER GALLERY.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;************************************&#x3C;BR&#x3E;1.    The Northern Ontario Gravemarker Gallery has 250,000  photographs&#x3C;BR&#x3E;online with more going online weekly.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;2.    Search Engines.  Please note that the Northern Ontario Gravemarker&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Gallery has it&#x27;s own search engine at this time. The Canadian Gravemarker&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Gallery has it&#x27;s own search engine currently.  The objective is to have the&#x3C;BR&#x3E;one search engine to index both websites and queries are being made.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;3.    The number of visitors to the Northern Ontario Gravemarker Gallery is&#x3C;BR&#x3E;nearing 500,000....which is significant when you consider the majority of&#x3C;BR&#x3E;these visitors are family researchers.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;NORTHERN ONTARIO HISTORIC/NOSTALGIC WEBSITE.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*******************************************&#x3C;BR&#x3E;1.    Several visitors have asked about the research value of the&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Historic/Nostalgic website.  I explain that the yearbooks and classroom&#x3C;BR&#x3E;photos with names, place the student in a specific place and time; plus in&#x3C;BR&#x3E;most cases it will also place their parents in that specific place and time.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;2.    Please note that the *Northern Ontario Historic Photo Gallery* is&#x3C;BR&#x3E;online at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~cannor &#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;3.    Currently there are many yearbooks and class photos online for North&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Bay and other Northern Ontario communities.   &#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;******************************************************&#x3C;BR&#x3E;******************************************************&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;NORTHERN ONTARIO GRAVEMARKER GALLERY:&#x3C;BR&#x3E;************************************&#x3C;BR&#x3E;http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~murrayp&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;CANADIAN GRAVEMARKERS GALLERY:&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*****************************&#x3C;BR&#x3E;http://www.gravemarkers.ca&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;SUBSCRIBING TO THE UPDATES NEWSLETTER:&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*************************************&#x3C;BR&#x3E;To Subscribe to the Gravemarker Galleries Newsletter please go to the&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Website at:&#x3C;BR&#x3E;http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~murrayp and click on the &#x22;Join&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Updates Newsletter&#x22; button located just above the weather row.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;******************************************************&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;NOTES:&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*****&#x3C;BR&#x3E;1.    Cemeteries have spousal duplicated photographs.   This means a photo&#x3C;BR&#x3E;which has the spouse&#x27;s maiden name showing, is duplicated and when one&#x3C;BR&#x3E;searches for a surname, the spouse&#x27;s surname will be a separate &#x22;search&#x3C;BR&#x3E;result&#x22;.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;2.    The speed at which cemeteries are photographed depends mainly on the&#x3C;BR&#x3E;price of gas for our cars to reach distant cemeteries.  Should you wish to&#x3C;BR&#x3E;help out with this ongoing huge project, please contact Murray at&#x3C;BR&#x3E;mailto:murray@gravemarkers.ca&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*********************************************&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;

<description>The following are the names as best I can decipher them.  To describe each of the lots can get complicated as some properties are parts of a lot and to describe each becomes to complicated.  Trust this is of help to some of you.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;The next question is there a genealogy society or Archives in Timmins that would be intersted in this map?  I have no personal use for it and given it&#x27;s age to much handling will cause it to deteriorate.  &#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;I can anticipate a flurry of offers to look after it but would like to see it available to the public.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Jim&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Concesion I lot 7&#x26;8 north of the Mattagami River - Carr Timber Co.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Concesion II:  G. We have completed photographing all Renfrew County Cemeteries.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Processing photos is ongoing. &#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;2.    Work is continuing in Sudbury District.  The Eyre and Anglican&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Cemeteries will be redone and separated.  &#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;3.    More volunteers have joined the effort to photograph all cemeteries in&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Cochrane District.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;4.    More work is being done on Muskoka District Cemeteries.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;5.    Volunteers are starting work on Rainy River, Kenora and Thunder Bay&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Districts.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;6.    Kirkland Lake Cemetery will hopefully be photographed in the Spring&#x3C;BR&#x3E;2008.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;TIPS.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;****&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Searching for common names such as &#x22;brown&#x22; can result in many hits.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Experiment with the search engine. Try...BROWN1...then BROWN2.....then&#x3C;BR&#x3E;BROWN3...etc etc..! This will reduce the results for each search.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;BREAKING NEWS.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*************&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;1.    Over the past 7 years I have been asked by Out-Of-Province folks, &#x22;If&#x3C;BR&#x3E;I photographed local cemeteries, can I send the pictures to you and have&#x3C;BR&#x3E;them placed online?&#x22;  At the time, I told these folks that I was&#x3C;BR&#x3E;concentrating only on Northern Ontario.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;2.    However, I have now started building a website: http://gravemarkers.ca&#x3C;BR&#x3E;.....!  On this new site I can accommodate photographs of complete&#x3C;BR&#x3E;cemeteries from anywhere in Canada.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;3.    If you have family or friends across Canada who may be interested in&#x3C;BR&#x3E;photographing their local cemeteries, please pass on this information.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;4.    If you are interested in your local cemeteries going online, please&#x3C;BR&#x3E;contact me at: mailto:murray@gravemarkers.ca&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;5.    Please note that the *Northern Ontario Historic Photo Gallery* is now&#x3C;BR&#x3E;online at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~cannor - the 1965 yearbook photos for&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Chippewa Secondary School are now online.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;******************************************************&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Northern Ontario Gravemarker Gallery:&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~murrayp&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;To Subscribe to this Newsletter please go to the Website at:&#x3C;BR&#x3E;http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~murrayp and click on the &#x22;Join&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Updates Newsletter&#x22; button located just above the weather row.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;******************************************************&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;NOTES:&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*****&#x3C;BR&#x3E;1.    Cemeteries photographed early in the project were not&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x22;spousal-duplicated&#x22;.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;This means a photo which has the spouse&#x27;s maiden name showing, is duplicated&#x3C;BR&#x3E;and when one searches for a surname, the spouse&#x27;s name will be a search&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x22;hit&#x22;.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;2.    The majority of cemeteries are spousal duplicated now and thanks to&#x3C;BR&#x3E;the help of kind volunteers, we are working away to make sure the entire&#x3C;BR&#x3E;project is &#x22;spousal-duplicated&#x22;.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;3.    The speed at which cemeteries are photographed depends mostly on the&#x3C;BR&#x3E;price of gas for our cars to reach distant cemeteries.  Should you wish to&#x3C;BR&#x3E;help out with this ongoing huge project, please contact Murray at&#x3C;BR&#x3E;mailto:murray@gravemarkers.ca&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Bye for now...Murray&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Canadian Gravemarker Gallery - http://www.gravemarkers.ca&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;NorOnt Gravemarker Gallery - http://301url.com/gravemarkers&#x3C;BR&#x3E;*&#x3C;BR&#x3E;NorOnt Historic/Nostalgia Gallery - http://www.rootsweb.com/~cannor &#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;
