He grew up on Bullitt Ave. in Roanoke, Virginia. He was born June-11-1930 to Franklin Patterson Carper and Mary Edna Thompson Carper. I have no idea if he was in the Navy but I can tell you that several others were in the navy in our family and his age fits about the time where he could have been in the service in the '50's. Shirley de Berry (born Aug 1885 died 1967). Had at least two children, Shirley V R Carper and Aubrey Wyndham Carper. Family lived in London from 1911 - 1920 and then came back to states. Based on ships passenger records they lived in DC and Louisville, Ky during the 1920s or so. Have had no luck in finding them later. Would love to learn what happened to them.
