I am searching for my great -great -grand mother.
She was at home with family on the 1850 census of McDowell Co. N.C.
One child, a son, George is not listed with them, so she may have been pregnant with him.
She may have died in childbirth or shortly there after, because i do not find her with the family on the 1860 census. Her family apparently moved back and forth between McDowell and Mitchell counties, as i have found them on both. Any help in regard to her death and burial will be appreciated.
Her husband, my gr-gr grandfather John Milton (Jackie ) McClellan died after 1900 and is buried in the Penley Cemetary, but i do not find her there. They were married in 1825 in Cabarrus Co. N.C.
NARCISSA COLLENS MCCLELLAN--born: 1805.

Good Morning Michael. I have some info, not a lot, but i will continue to search my records which are quite large and not in very good order right now. I moved and some of my records are still in file boxes, but if you would like to find a more complete documentation, i suggest you contact my cousin Joyce Penley Comer Burnette. She has done research for over 20 years. She will be able to tell you exactly where all the Civil War soldiers in our family are buried, where they served, etc. She is a PENLEY by birth. and lives in N.C.
joyceburnette33@bellsouth.net

JAMES RANSOM PENLEY b: 1847 Mitchell Co. Cuba, Illinois-----Fulton County
Note: I have his death certificate which states-death caused by shock after a fall on wet floor that broke his hip.He was living at the time with his son John Freeman and daughter in law Ruhamey. At some point in time Ruhamey applied for Benjamins , soldier's pension from N.C. and he recieved a grand 6 dollars a month until the time of his demise. (I have a photo of his head stone ) His grave is well kept, and marked with a special bronze plaque on the headstone top, placed there by the local veterans association.
If you have anything on JOHN MCCLELLAN of Grassy Creek N.C., would you please forward it to me. I believe he was a soldier but i cant find him on any of the rolls of soldiers. The 2008 National Allison Family Reunion, presented by the> 700 members of the National Allison-Allanson Family Association, is going to> be even more special than it always is. Several BIG things are happening!> > This year on!> October 17 and 18 in Brevard, North Carolina we celebrate the> 350th anniversary of our arrival in the New World from London, England.> Family members are coming from three continents to be a part of history in> the making -- to stand together as a family even though it will be necessary> to go back in time to the year 1639 just to find the point in time that all> of us in that massive crowd converge into the life of a single ancestor.> Nevertheless, we're still very much a family today. And an amazingly tight> and strong family!> > Without a doubt, it's the grandest celebration ever for a wandering old> British family that has been away from home for 350 years! But that's only> part of the excitement!> > The reunion opens with the premiere of the new documentary film by Connect> 7 Productions, New York that was shot at the 2007 National Allison Family> Reunion as part of a planned new TV project, "Family Reunions".> > I've just received the rough cut of the film that's in!> the final editing> stages and it is far bigger and better than I ever> dreamed possible! This is> family treasure for sure, an instant family heirloom that will be watched by> Allisons 1,000 years from now who will be utterly amazed that we of today> have left behind this priceless genealogical treasure. No courthouse record,> no census enumeration, could ever speak so poignantly as this film speaks.> > I have to keep pinching myself to make sure this film isn't a dream. I can> tend to take what we have for granted until I see it interpreted by master> filmmakers! "Blown away" is an understatement! Years ago there was a dream> that an ancient family could be found and reunited and brought together once> a year, and that that family would come from several foreign countries, from> as far away as Europe and South America, and from up to 40 US states. The> film is the living proof that it not only can be done, but has been done!> It's being done every year!> > The 350th Anniversary of arrival in America from London is special enough,> but having !> the film to open the celebration takes it all to levels even I> can't yet fathom. Going to be a major emotional high that will kick off the> weekend with cannon fire. No way one can sit through this film without> feeling an intense connection to the past and an overwhelming sense pride in> our heritage.> > If you're a descendant of Thomas Allanson/Allison (1639-1684), Lord of> Christian Temple Manor, of London and Charles County, Maryland, we want you> to be with us for this historic moment...the most important thing to happen> in our Allison family since we stepped off a tiny ship onto the sandy soil> of the Maryland coast in the year 1658. If you think you "might" have> ancestry in this line, you're invited too! We love finding lost tribes of> cousins. And they're out there somewhere by the tens of thousands today.> > Almost 50 top quality heritage entertainers will be taking the stage across> the event packed weekend, including the famed Cherokee Indians Warriors of> the!> AniKithuwa. We present the very best of authentic heritage entertainm> ent> that brings our rich past to life.> > As an added plus, we're preserving this year's historic gathering in a 350th> anniversary commemorative book that will include a photograph of every> individual or family household attending, along with a personal article. The> book will include about 20 pages of our history across the centuries, two> dozen pages of photos of the event, and a special memorial section allowing> family members to honor loved ones and ancestors who have passed away.> > Attendance at the 2008 National Allison Family Reunion with attendance> running as high as 750 people for portions of the event packed weekend is by> reservation only, due to catered meals and the elaborate planning necessary> to accommodate such crowds with table seating. There's still time to get in> on this incredible event, if you hurry! A few hotel and motel rooms are> left, and we can easily get you set up with reservations to attend the> events. E-mail me today!> > 2008 NATIONAL A!> LLISON FAMILY REUNION> October 17-18> Brevard, North Carolina in the Blue Ridge Mountains during the peak of> brilliant fall color!> > Hope to see you there!> Michael Allison dma12@bellsouth.net> President, National Allison-Allanson Family Association> > > > ------------------------------> > To contact the NCMCDOWE list administrator, send an email to> NCMCDOWE-admin@rootsweb.com.> > To post a message to the NCMCDOWE mailing list, send an email to NCMCDOWE@rootsweb.com.> > __________________________________________________________> To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to NCMCDOWE-request@rootsweb.com> with the word "unsubscribe" without the quotes in the subject and the body of the> email with no additional text.> > > End of NCMCDOWE Digest, Vol 3, Issue 6> **************************************> _________________________________________________________________> Want to do more with Windows Live? No way > > one can sit through this film without> feeling an intense connection to > > the past and an overwhelming sense pride in> our heritage.> > If you're a > > descendant of Thomas Allanson/Allison (1639-1684), Lord of> Christian > > Temple Manor, of London and Charles County, Maryland, we want you> to be > > with us for this historic moment...the most important thing to happen> in > > our Allison family since we stepped off a tiny ship onto the sandy soil> > > of the Maryland coast in the year 1658. If you think you "might" have> > > ancestry in this line, you're invited too! We love finding lost tribes of> > > cousins. And they're out there somewhere by the tens of thousands today.> > > > Almost 50 top quality heritage entertainers will be taking the stage > > across> the event packed weekend, including the famed Cherokee Indians > > Warriors of> the AniKithuwa. We present the very best of authentic > > heritage entertainment> that brings our rich past to life.> > As an added > > plus, we're preserving this year's historic gathering in a 350th> > > anniversary commemorative book that will include a photograph of every> > > individual or family household attending, along with a personal article. > > The> book will include about 20 pages of our history across the centuries, > > two> dozen pages of photos of the event, and a special memorial section > > allowing> family members to honor loved ones and ancestors who have passed > > away.> > Attendance at the 2008 National Allison Family Reunion with > > attendance> running as high as 750 people for portions of the event packed > > weekend is by> reservation only, due to catered meals and the elaborate > > planning necessary> to accommodate such crowds with table seating. There's > > still time to get in> on this incredible event, if you hurry! A few hotel > > and motel rooms are> left, and we can easily get you set up with > > reservations to attend the> events. The 2008 National Allison Family Reunion, presented by the> 700
> members of the National Allison-Allanson Family Association, is going to>
> be even more special than it always is. Several BIG things are happening!>
> > This year on October 17 and 18 in Brevard, North Carolina we celebrate
> the> 350th anniversary of our arrival in the New World from London,
> England.> Family members are coming from three continents to be a part of
> history in> the making -- to stand together as a family even though it
> will be necessary> to go back in time to the year 1639 just to find the
> point in time that all> of us in that massive crowd converge into the life
> of a single ancestor.> Nevertheless, we're still very much a family today.
> And an amazingly tight> and strong family!> > Without a doubt, it's the
> grandest celebration ever for a wandering old> British family that has
> been away from home for 350 years! But that's only> part of the
> excitement!> > The reunion opens with the premiere of the new documentary
> film by Connect> 7 Productions, New York that was shot at the 2007
> National Allison Family> Reunion as part of a planned new TV project,
> "Family Reunions".> > I've just received the rough cut of the film that's
> in the final editing> stages and it is far bigger and better than I ever
> dreamed possible! This is> family treasure for sure, an instant family
> heirloom that will be watched by> Allisons 1,000 years from now who will
> be utterly amazed that we of today> have left behind this priceless
> genealogical treasure. No courthouse record,> no census enumeration, could
> ever speak so poignantly as this film speaks.> > I have to keep pinching
> myself to make sure this film isn't a dream. I can> tend to take what we
> have for granted until I see it interpreted by master> filmmakers! "Blown
> away" is an understatement! Years ago there was a dream> that an ancient
> family could be found and reunited and brought together once> a year, and
> that that family would come from several foreign countries, from> as far
> away as Europe and South America, and from up to 40 US states. The> film
> is the living proof that it not only can be done, but has been done!> It's
> being done every year!> > The 350th Anniversary of arrival in America from
> London is special enough,> but having the film to open the celebration
> takes it all to levels even I> can't yet fathom. Going to be a major
> emotional high that will kick off the> weekend with cannon fire. No way
> one can sit through this film without> feeling an intense connection to
> the past and an overwhelming sense pride in> our heritage.> > If you're a
> descendant of Thomas Allanson/Allison (1639-1684), Lord of> Christian
> Temple Manor, of London and Charles County, Maryland, we want you> to be
> with us for this historic moment...the most important thing to happen> in
> our Allison family since we stepped off a tiny ship onto the sandy soil>
> of the Maryland coast in the year 1658.
