[TILBURY] New family history website from Salt Lake City

The Family History Department in Salt Lake City has developed a new research
support tool <www.FamilySearchWiki.org>. This resource has been developed to
help make family history research advice easier to find and share. There are
two ways to search the site; Keyword search or Browse by country.
FamilySearchWiki is intended as an online community for family history
researchers and those interested in learning how to be more successful in the
search for their ancestors. This site includes all research outlines published
by the Family History Library and many other articles never published such as
the wiki material for Japan, China and India. Go ahead, take it for a spin and
feel free to tell others about it.

I apologise to the list members for not including more information in my previous posting.

My surname interests are

TILBURY Mary Tilbury married Daniel Holman Mackney She was born abt 1804 in Chesham, Kent and died abt 1865 in Lewisham, London

WISEMAN (WEISMANN, WEISSMANN) Frederick Conrad Wiseman / Weismann born abt 1861 in Australia. I have his father as Friedrich Egbert Weismann (married in Ipswich, Queensland, Australia 1859) I believe my gggrandfather's name was actually Weismann and was changed somewhere around the year 1900 to Wiseman. I have found certificates for his marriage here in Australia in both names and my gmother used to say she believed the name had been
Weismann ... but we don't know the reasoning behind the name change.

MACKNEY, I have a large database on the Mackney line, dating from Richard Mackney born abt 1674 in England

FENWICK Jane Fenwick married above Richard Mackney abt 1703 in Thanet, Kent, England. They had 4 known children.

NICHOLSON, Emma Jane Nicholson was born in Yorkshire abt 1839, she married a Samuel Webster (one daughter Clara my Ggrandmother), she married a ??
Wright who had several children of his own, she then emigrated to Australia where she married Francis Charles Kingston (my gggrandfather) Her daughter
Clara married Francis Arthur Kingston (son of Francis Charles Kingston and Mary Jane Agnes Morrison)

WRIGHT, as related to Nicholson, above

KINGSTON, Edward William Kingston born abt 1803 in Somerset England, father of above Francis Charles Kingston.

RALPH, Mary Ralph born abt 1710 in Kent, England married John Mackney 1733 in St Laurence, Kent, England

ZIMPEL, Carl August Zimpel and Karlotta Kervietta Grabenten, a son Ernst Theodor Zimpel, born abt 1859 in Prussia married Bertha Redlin in
Queensland, Australia in 1887

BALLHAUSE, Henry Ballhause, born abt 1836 in Prussia, emigrated to Australia (? not sure) naturalised 1893. Married Emma Moore, 1863 in Sydney
Australia

SHAW son of Henry Ballhause (above) Joseph William Henry Shaw married Isobella Mary Louise Shaw (daughter of Malcolm Shaw and Mary Alice Johnson)

Regards
Cynthia Zimpel (nee Mackney)

Hi Listers

I am writing this before connecting and reading whether there have been any
responses to my earlier post, so my appalling mistake may already have been
identified and commented upon.

The village of Colyton is in the English county of Devon and definitely NOT
in Somerset; apologies to all.

The corrected wording follows:-

"Today, while wandering through the village of Colyton in Devon, England,
I discovered mention of a TILBURY family and pass on the information in the
hope that it will be of some help.

This first list is of TILBURYs of the village who have died at some
indeterminate date in the past; I might, but only might, be able to find out
more if there is an interest out there.

Emma TILBURY
James Caleb TILBURY
Elsie TILBURY
Ernest TILBURY

The following is the wording written on a plaque on a wall in the village:-

"This garden has been created in loving memory of Paul TILBURY by members of
his family November 2002."

If anyone is interested, I could take a photograph of this plaque and send
as an attachment, but obviously off-list."

John Taylor
