<title>[UK-YKS-1901-CENSUS] From your new admin</title>
<link>http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/read/UK-YKS-1901-CENSUS/2008-04/1207323842</link>
<description>Hello to all,&#x3C;BR&#x3E; &#x3C;BR&#x3E;I am Jim &#x22;Pops&#x22; Jackson and have just been approved as your new list admin.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;I notice the activity here has been very quiet (almost non-existent) and am&#x3C;BR&#x3E;wondering if any of you have ideas as to how this list could be of&#x3C;BR&#x3E;assistance in your genealogical research.  &#x3C;BR&#x3E; &#x3C;BR&#x3E;The original purpose is stated as &#x22;A mailing list for persons interested in&#x3C;BR&#x3E;or taking part in the transcribing of the 1901 census for the county of&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Yorkshire, England.&#x22; but I wonder if there might not be a better statement&#x3C;BR&#x3E;of purpose that would help make it a viable list.  Your response, positive&#x3C;BR&#x3E;or negative, will be greatly appreciated.  If there is no real interest I&#x3C;BR&#x3E;will just let it continue to be the sleeping entity it has been.  If there&#x3C;BR&#x3E;is interest, I will do all I can to help it wake up and be useful to us all.&#x3C;BR&#x3E; &#x3C;BR&#x3E;By way of a better introduction;  I live in the U.S. in Smyrna, GA - near&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Atlanta.  I have discovered some connections to England but will have to&#x3C;BR&#x3E;look again to see if Yorkshire fits into what I have so far.  I have been&#x3C;BR&#x3E;adminning Rootsweb lists for about 8 years and really enjoy it.&#x3C;BR&#x3E; &#x3C;BR&#x3E;I hope to hear from all of you soon.  I see that we have a total of 86&#x3C;BR&#x3E;subscribed addresses (two of which are mine - one in &#x22;L&#x22; mode and one in &#x22;D&#x22;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;mode).&#x3C;BR&#x3E; &#x3C;BR&#x3E;Best wishes,&#x3C;BR&#x3E; &#x3C;BR&#x3E;Jim&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;

<description>1884 and Hello there. I am new to this method of searching, but here goes: I&#x3C;BR&#x3E;am trying to find my paternal grandparents date of marriage and place of&#x3C;BR&#x3E;birth etc; grandfathers name was THOMAS  PEARSON and he was married to&#x3C;BR&#x3E;MARY(some query as to her Christian name) SCHOEFIELD (SCHOFIELD) and I&#x3C;BR&#x3E;believe they would marry in the Sheffield/Rotherham area around the year&#x3C;BR&#x3E;1902ish, they had at least five children that I am certain of but I have no&#x3C;BR&#x3E;other details, I do know that grandfather was a gardener on the outskirts of&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Rotherham at a Mr Cottons residence. &#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Their years of birth were I believe: THOMAS c1884 and MARY c1886  any&#x3C;BR&#x3E;information however small would be appreciated.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Regards&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Ron Pearson (grandson)&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;

<link>http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/read/UK-YKS-1901-CENSUS/2005-07/1122245548</link>
<description>Hi,&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;I would like to request a lookup of the 1901 Census for Fanny Spencer, born 14 Sep 1895, in Yorkshire. (Possibly but not certain, the Doncaster area).&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Her father was Charles SPENCER (no other details).&#x3C;BR&#x3E;I only have the maiden name of her mother, GUERNAL.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Finding this record in the 1901 Census would help me fill in the blanks. If at possible I&#x27;d like to have the image as well as the folio, piece &#x26; page numbers.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Kind regards.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;Martin in Essex.&#x3C;BR&#x3E;&#x3C;BR&#x3E;
