As a lifelong quilter and a genealogist, I am very interested in finding <BR>out more about these quilts and their makers. <BR>The quilts are a Medallion quilt featured on pg. 60 and a Sunburst quilt <BR>shown on pg. 257. The quilts were made by Elizabeth Yoakum Harness, Martha <BR>Harness Darst and Elizabeth Ann Darst Bierce. Martha Harness Darst was the <BR>granddaughter of George Harness. His brother, Peter Harness, was my 4th <BR>great-grandfather. <BR>According to the book, the quilts are now owned by sisters who are <BR>descendants of Martha Harness Darst--Elizabeth Holden and Ann Holden Hart. I would <BR>very much like to find a way to contact/correspond with one of these women to <BR>find out more about my family tree and especially about the family quilting <BR>tradition. <BR>Mary Elizabeth Johnson, co-author of the book, has been very friendly and <BR>understands my excitement, but she was not in contact with any of the quilt <BR>owners and does not know how to find them. I have written 5 or 6 emails to <BR>Roderick Kirakofe, also author, over the last 4 months, but have not received any <BR>reply or acknowledgement. <BR>I am appealing for help from anyone who might know anything about the book, <BR>the quilts, the owners, or that branch of the Harness family genealogy.
