Greetings to all,
A brand new genealogy organization has been formed at Rootsweb! This
organization is called the International Internet Genealogical Society or
IIGS and membership is open to all who are interested in genealogy worldwide.
We hope to link together genealogists and genealogy resources all over the
world through this organization.
Details about the organization and its mission may be viewed on our web
page at.......
http://www.rootsweb.com/~iigs
We are a totally volunteer organization and would like to extend an
invitation to any and all interested "rooters" to come and join us at
IIGS!!! You may sign up for the IIGS Mailing List direct from our web
page. We have several teams of volunteers working together to make this
organization a success worldwide and we need many more of you to help.
There are places for all types of talent that are needed ASAP. If you would
like to volunteer to help out, whether it is just a little or a lot, or
whether you have tons of experience or not, we really want to hear from you!!
Some positions which need to be filled as soon as possible are as follows:
teachers (for online genealogy classes), translators (all languages), Unix
sys administrators, and Global Village Representatives to represent their
respective countries throughout the world. There are several teams at IIGS
and you may volunteer for any of them. A listing of these teams can be
viewed on our web page.
Volunteers may send an e-mail with their name, e-mail address, any area(s)
for which they would like to volunteer, and any special skills or talents
they may possess (although not required), to the following address.
Please put Volunteer as the subject of your e-mail to help speed things along!
Hope to see you there!!!!
Thank you for your time!
