Hi!

My Grandmother told me that my GGG Grandfather -William STEWART (b:1796) of
Midmar was a caretaker at Cluny Castle. I have since learned that Cluny
Castle is actually a tower castle. On census records he listed his occupation
as a farmer.

What is the purpose of a tower castle and is it something that would need a
caretaker? Can someone point me to any information about Cluny Castle.
