Hi everyone:

Does anyone who is actually living in the Aberdeen area know of sources
for local history--whether libraries or churches may have local "vanity"
books about their parishes? I understand that the OPR records are in
Edinburgh, but it seems to me local histories must be available
somewhere in SOME form in each community?

I'm looking for information on Belhelvie, Logie Buchan, and Ellon.
Also, is there a way to research by land records? I've got a family who
lived at the Mill of Tarty from about 1750-1820, perhaps longer.

Any ideas would be most welcome. Happy New Year!
