Hi there Sandy,

When doing the MIs, we normally clear around the headstone, I
guess you know the old trick about rubbing it with chalk, it makes
the writing stand out and does not affect the headstone.

When I was over in the UK, I found two of my family stones
almost covered with ivy, that IS a very tricky thing as it
actually eats into the headstone, so you have to be very careful
in prising it off. When doing anything like that, you need to make sure
you go with a little bag of suitable equipment otherwise you
can ruin the complete headstone.

If it is in a Churchyard, you are oblidged to ask the curator, minister, or
whoever is in charge and do that at least a week in advance, you might get
lucky and they will have the grass cut!
:-))

If there is any spacific thing you would like to ask Sandy, just
yell. Our Gene Group has done 3 cemeteries over here, so we have
had a bit of experience.

Incidently, how many of you are doing it? There is a good way of
overcoming errors but do not want to go into it all on the List
unless others are interested, of course.

Kind regards from Australia,
