Another way is to use the ScotsOrigins web site (although you have to pay for access via credit card) at http://www.origins.net/GRO/

This lets you search, online, an index to the OPR baptism and banns/marriage records, as well as indexes to post-1855 births, marriages and deaths. You can then order a copy of the actual OPR entry, or post-1855 certificate, and they will post it to you.

Of course, if you visit Scotland you'll find the microfilms for all the OPRs are freely accessible all over the place at libraries, register offices and family history society offices.
