Dear Gary,

I noted your reply to Betty Mathers "regarding SCOTT, GIBSON etc". My interest is in your links to PORTER. I'd be keen to know if the following PORTERs ring any bells:

1. Mary PORTER, m.15 Jul 1758 to John ALEXANDER (b.1718, d.4 Jun 1772), had daughters Mary and Jean. (In the Banff area possibly?)

2. Thomas PORTER, b. circa 1740; had a daughter Janet PORTER, b.4 Jul 1767 in Turiff, who married George SMALL on 26 October 1794 at Turiff.
