I wonder if there is anyone subscribing to this mailing list who is - or knows of someone/some body - who has carried out research into the Robertsons of Aberdeen - specifically from the Footdee area ? (I know it is a BIG subject !)

I am in the direct line of descent of such Robertsons and some years ago researched into the public and parochial records...pretty easily finding my way back to the early 19th Century where, infuriatingly, the trail was lost. Recently, I have caught the genealogy bug again but still come up against the same dead end.

It occurs to me that others may have successfully traced their Robertson ancestors further back and their may be - could easily be - a crossing or intermingling of lines which could possibly give me some pointer to where the "geographic" trail (if such is the problem) of my Robertsons seems to have taken a turn.
