The modern spelling is Esslemont, although some families have adopted
the spelling Esselmont.

The nearest Hazeldean I know of is in Renfrewshire, about 250 km from
Aberdeen. There is a Hazelhead on the Western outskirts of Aberdeen.
In the 1870s it was a country house.
