This is the second posting of this format. Is someone gathering names for a
list?
Of so, I would strongly suggest NOT doing it. A much better procedure is to
post your information on the RootsWeb Surname List (http://rsl.rootsweb.com/).
The advantage of the RSL is the contributor has complete control and may at
any time add or delete any information. The RSL also allows the village and
time period (both important information not present here), as well as the
immediate recognition of other families that person is researching (an
important clue to potential family connections),
As an alternative or in addition, I would suggest becoming a member of the
the Aberdeen and NE Scotland Family History Society and posting your
pedigree with them. We could also encourge the A&NESFHS to make the
thousands of personal family pedigrees they already have available online
or in CD format. At this time they have them in hundreds of 3-ring
notebooks in their basement. This is a project we could all benefit from.
