Thanks,Mary and Gavin, for your advise. Obviously helps not to ask questions from a sick man while in a hospital bed.
Ok, I will ask this list if there is anyone with this family member in their tree - can't wait for the snail mail, or it could be another Robert that's not related.

Robert Riddle/Riddell: - poss.b. 1 Mar. 1807. - ch. 15 Mar 1807. - Hobkirk, Roxburgh, Scotland.
poss.d. 1867 unknown.
Possibly moved to Aberdeen.

Robert was the 4th child of,
John Riddle/Riddell. -b. abt 1773, - Hobkirk, Rox, Scot. m. abt 1800. - Margaret Turnbull. - abt 1777. - Denholm, Scot.(f. James)

Other family members,
Walter, 1800; Margaret, 1802-1806, James, 1804-1892(m. Jane Goodall.-my Line) William 1809-1860, John 1812-1876, Elizabeth"Betty" 1814-1844, Jane 1817.(m.Andrew Scott) and Turnbull 1825(m.Helen Clarkson).
