Subject: [ABERDEEN] Request for advice

Hello Listers,

I would be grateful for advice on Memorial Inscriptions.

Over three years ago, a lister very kindly told me that, according to Crammond's list of MIs for the cemetery at Boyndie, Banff, there was a memorial inscription to a family I am researching.

"No. 271 Erected 1859 by W. Walker, manufacturer, Boyne, to mark out the spot

where many of his kindred are interred."

Last week, whilst on holiday in Inverness, I decided to make the 60 mile drive to Boyndie with the intention of finding the Memorial Inscription and taking a photograph. On arrival, we were slightly non-plussed when we were unable to find a cemetery. We asked some local people who told us that the cemetery was in fact at Inverboyndie, 3 04 miles away. We went and scoured the cemetery and were unable to find the said Memorial Inscription.

I would be grateful if someone who has access to Crammond's book could confirm that I was at least looking in the right place.

Many thanks

Nick Beaton
