I work in the genealogy department of my local library and there have been
many times that people show up to research from the other side of the USA -
California or Oregon, etc., on the same day someone from Florida or Maine,
or anywhere, comes in, AND, they are researching the same family, and find
that they are related...

> Hello, Lists. First, I know that some of you will receive this more
than once, being on similar lists like I am, and I apologize. And I know
it's not exactly strictly genealogy, but I thought I would go for it anyway.
If it bothers anyone, I hereby apologize.

anyone here believe that you can be drawn to ancestors through whatever,
genes, maybe? Blood calling to blood? Or do you think this is just garbage
and mystical twaddle?

Mennie) and was surprisingly overjoyed when I confirmed that she was my so
many times great grandmother. I just so badly wanted her to be mine, for
some reason. It could be, of course, that I just liked her name!!
