I have now discovered where the hospital was. It was originally set up
in 1857 and occupied a house called Belleville in Baker Street. In 1884
it moved to new premises at Morningfield, on what is now King's Gate,
but which then was (I think) known as the High Stocket Road, and lay
some distance outside the town. The building has recently been
converted into residential flats.
