Dear Abernethy kin,

This James I think is the 10th child of James Wright Abernethy and Lois
Andrus. James Wright Abernethy was born between 1778-1781 to John
Abernethy and a widow by the name of Wright, who also had two daughters
Ann and Ruth. James had three brothers, Samuel, a silk weaver in
Philadelphia, John who drowned unmarried, and Thomas born about 1775 in
CT who married Electa Smith and lived in Smiths Mills, Leeds, Ontario
before moving to Rush, NY, and then Utica, Michigan where he died in
1837.

I am seeking info on John who supposedly died at the Battle of Cowpens,
SC, in 1781.
