There was a George Abernathy in colonial SC in what is now Newberry Co.
His wife's name was Martha Appleton, daughter of William Appleton. Is
that your line? Are the John and James Abernathy you mentioned from
Newberry Co. SC and was their mother's name Elizabeth? THANKS! Mary
