Subject: surname Bashaw/Bergeron

Hello to all,

I have recently started to research my husband's family name, Bashaw.
However, I have been told that when they lived in Canada, Acadia,
the last name was Bergeron. Someone changed it when they entered the US. I
am back to his gr gr grandfather whose name was Loriel or David (I've seen it
both ways) Bashaw. He is on the 1850 census in Au
Sable, NY. I would appreciate any help out there locating the names of his
parents. Thank you.
