Hello,
I remember my mother talking with my aunts about the neighbor Marie Sale.
Well we know those of us who have been blessed with the opportunity to
read original census from Canada that the census taker sometimes made little
notes about places he arrived at. The translation for sale in the dictionary
and I quote "dirty; nasty, foul; coarse, obscene; squalid" I have Marie Sale
in
my line. I know my mother was not talking out her, they were talking about
the neighbors housekeeping or lack off. <smile>
