This note is directed to Francois Roux, if he is available, but I think
everyone might enjoy his response.

In looking at the Le Musee Acadien d'Archigny web site,
http://www.vi.interpc.fr/archigny/fr20/musee_acad.html, I am struggling a bit
to translate the French version into English.

It appears that 1400 Acadians left France for Louisiana in 1785. (England
and France ended the war with the Treaty of Paris in 1763.) Were these 1400
Acadians in the Archigny, France, area or in the Nantes, France, area? In
1793 another 17 families (73 people) left for Louisiana. What is the "durant
200 ans"? Was this for sea passage? How were this many people received in
Louisiana?

One other question, what is "Poitou"? Is this a different way of spelling
"Poitiers", or is "Poitou" the general region?

One other question, there is an Acadian museum between Loudun, France, and
Martaize, France, that is in the shape of a windmill. What is the name of
this museum?

Many thanks for your help.
