Good Morning Nancy and Everybody!
Yes Nancy, it would be correct to say that the parents of Antoinette Landry
are unknown. In StephenWhite's new Dictionnaire, he has an interesting note
that in the research done, Antoinette Landry was the sister of René Landry
l'aîné (meaning the eldest) though no parents are listed for him either.
Anything other than this is heresay and unproven which means there has been
no reliable source of information thus far that proves anything else no
matter what has been said.
Much research into France has been impossible because:
1. records were lost or destroyed by the British during the deportation -
we are most fortunate that some Acadians carried with them throughout the
deportation years in exile and after, the records that they took with them
from their churches in Acadia when they were being deported. These are the
same registers that finally were deposited in Louisiana by them. 2. More
records were destroyed in France during the French Revolution -
In my research and that of all the researchers I am acquainted with, to
know the truth is all that matters. That we cannot find a birth place or
ancestry in France is sad but the truth is all that matters - just to know
what our Ancestors went through in the years of Deportation and that they
rose again.. rose out of their ashes sustained only by their faith and love
of family is enough for me when that is all there is. I take great pride in
that as it is part of who we are.
This does not mean that new information will not be found but I will not add
to my data any unproven/unsubstantiated/undocumented information that
cannot stand on its own. Heresay does not make it so.
Hope this information is helpful!

Is it correct to say, then, that we do not know who the parents of
Antoinette Landry (Bourg) were? And evidently the information about her
being from LaChaussee is also not documented? Do you know of a death
date for her in Acadia?
Thank you,
Nancy
