The following message is posted for the benefit of "new" members of this
ACADIAN-CAJUN Mailing List and will be re-posted on an ongoing basis.

This Mailing List is intended to be used PRIMARILY as an exchange medium,
for ideas, information and specifics relating to Acadian-Cajun GENEALOGY
and HISTORY.

While I may allow subscribers _some_ leeway relative Acadian culture
discussions, the Mailing List is most assuredly NOT the proper forum for
discussing Acadian-Cajun jokes, Acadian-Cajun recipes, Acadian-Cajun
(including Mac) computer problems (and virus warnings), Acadian-Cajun
medical problems and including "politically oriented views"
vis-a- vis French, English etc etc (add your own list here).

In the event you are contacted by me _privately_ regarding an inappropriate
posting, I expect you to immediately cease the thread...if you want to
discuss my decision, I am receptive to likewise hearing your

SPECIAL NOTE... and this IS intended to be a *WARNING*:
It seems every time I am "away" from the Mailing List, someone starts an
offensive/abusive OFF-TOPIC discussion! Effective immediately, in the event
this occurs again the ORIGINATOR of such a thread will be removed
(permanently) from the List, as well as the first THREE subscribers who
respond thereby encouraging the OFF-TOPIC thread. Sorry to have to take
such a hard-stand, but it seems to be necessary.
