Hi Folks:

The following message is posted for the benefit of "new" members of this
ACADIAN-CAJUN Mailing List and will be re-posted on an ongoing basis.

I suspect some of you may feel that I "moderate" the ACADIAN-CAJUN Mailing
List a little too severely... would you believe, I've actually been told to
'loosen-up' a couple of times <ggg> however, I sincerely believe that the
great majority of you prefer to have everyone on the List respect and treat
each other politely...and the following message I received from a
subscriber, kinda confirms it.

"Dear Yvon: I think you're 'moderating' just right. You've let the group
take care of a few rude participants without letting things degenerate into
a flame contest. And I know of at least one instance where you pulled
someone's life support, because they flamed you in front of the group."

Yes, I'm _firm_ (and I make no apology for that), but I also like to think
I'm _fair_...at least I try to be. I know from experience (I used to
moderate the "North American Genealogy Newsgroup" back in the good ole days
of BBS), that some people will take advantage of lack/weak moderation.

You are a great group and have no idea how pleasant it is for me to only
have to "tell you ONCE". <ggg> Thanks folks and keep digging (for your
roots, that is)! <ggg>
