I'm sorry if this has been covered before; I recently was contacted by a
distant cousin and it has raised a few questions.

Simon LAURENT dit DURIO married Catherine LAMPERT. They had two
children, Catherine, who died as an infant, and Jean Simon, born in 1752.
Catherine LAMPERT apparently died in 1763 and her husband Simon
remarried to Marguerite DERVAIN and had several children by her, one of
which was Simon Rene (born 1759 I think).

My question is this, which child of Simon LAURENT married Jeanne GIRAUD -
Jean Simon or Simon Rene? My cousin is wondering if Jeanne Giraud could
have married Jean Simon and then later married his half brother Simon
Rene.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you,
Ginny

<<There is no doubt that Simon LAURENT dit Durio did marry Catherine
Lampert and had two
children Catherine died an infant and Jean Simon, born 1752. He then
married
Margueritte Dervain and had several children of which Simon Rene was born
1759. There is no discrepancy there. The probelm lies in that both
appear
married to Jeanne Giraud. Could it be then she married Jean Simon and
then
married his half brother Simon Rene ?. Is there a record of Jean Simon's
death? That might provide the answer>>
