Hi there, My Michel dit Richelieu Leger was born in Quebec, but then went to
Acadia and married an Acadian girl, Angelique Pinet. They were deported from
Louisbourg. Eventually his wife and sons went to Louisiana on the La Bon Papa
in 1785 from France.
My Premeaux line also started in Quebec, it is believed he carried goods from
village to village. He ended up in Maryland. Don't know if he was caught up
with the Acadians as they were deported of if he went there on his own? He
married Susanne Plante (don't know if her family was from Acadia) in Maryland.
They went with some Acadians and others on a ship bound for New Orleans, but
ended up in Texas and had to walk back to Louisiana. Take care, BG Tomlin nee
Leger
