Hi Beverly
This was my 5th ggrandfather.
Michel-Prospere Leger settled on a piece of property on Bayou Queue de
Tortue originally owned by Louis and Joseph Latiolais. Located about
three miles west of present day Morse, Louisiana and about three miles
east from where Bayou Queue de Tortue empties into the Mermentau. It is
believed there was a school on the old place and was known as Leger
Point. But it lost its identity after the school was consolidated with
Morse, Evangeline and Riverside schools. Michel-Prospere raised his
family there and has several descendents in Acadia and Vermilion Parish.

Hope this helps
