Just a note from my database:

1830 U S Census, St Martin Parish, Western District, Page 123 lists Jacque
A. Chautin as head of household. It lists 3 Free white males under 5 years
of age, 1 between the age of 5 and 10 and 1 between 30 and 40 (This is
Jacques A. Chautin). Under Free white females it lists 1 under the age of 5,
1 between the age of 5 and 10, 2 between the ages of 10 and 15 and 1 between
the age of 30 and 40 (This would be the wife of Jacues A. Chautin). It then
lists Male slaves, 5 under the age of 10, 4 between the ages of 24 and 36.
Under Female slaves it lists 1 between the age of 10 and 24 and 3 between
the ages of 24 and 36. This is a total of 23 people. There is Jacque and
his wife with 8 children. He owned a total of 13 slaves (4 males and 4
females that apparently had 5 children).

Just this past Tuesday I ordered the CD that so many have mentioned. Will
do a short review when it arrives.
