Hi Mike...this is a great idea if Yvon wants to do it - It can actually be
quite brief or could even be part of the notice that goes out to new members
when they come onboard...up to Yvon though <smile>....
I don't think anybody means to be rude. In one way or another, I think most
of us get impassioned with researching our ancestors - have a great day and
let the research and sharing continue! :o) Lucie

Yvon and Fellow Listers,
I have been thinking about this for a while!
When we joined (and every so often afterwards) Yvon sent out form letters
outlining the conditions of use of the list, etc.
To help NEWBEE's and others, would it be possible to create the same type of
letter that might contain a list of identified misconceptions and/or
mistakes
such as:
the Savoie family of Italy, Marie Salle's marriage to Jean Claude Landry,
the
parents of Antoine and Etienne Hebert, Marie Daussy, and there are more. A
short paragraph on the known problems might help others from making the
mistake of including information that has been proven incorrect.
I think it should be available to anyone for posting on their site or for
inclusion in any published work. Maybe if the problems were in the open they
might get corrected. The way it is now the only way you know when you have a
problem is if you try to give help that might be incorrect (does this
sentance make sense?).
Once upon a time, Jacques Hébert & Marie Juneau were my 9th gt grandparents;
and Marie Daussy was my 9th gt grandmother when she was married to Jean
Gaudet (I descended from her twice, for a while), etc. etc. ( ;-).
What do you think? Workable or?
Thank you,
Mike McDermott, San Jose, CA
