His occupation was Master Tailor.
Mathurin is believed to have originated from Neuilli-sur-Eure, France.
He Prob. came to Québec in 1643.
It's likely this is the same Mathurin Landry who is listed as godfather of
two indigenous children baptized that summer by Jesuit missionaries in
Trois-Rivieres.
He returned to France, likely in the fall of 1643.

1653-Guillaume emigrated to New France
2 April 1656, Guillaume received a land grant of 3 arpents in the parish of
Ste.-Famille, Québec; it was situated along the St. Lawrence River.
Gabrielle, meanwhile, was working as a maidservant for Marie Couillard. She
met a Pierre Labrecque & they signed a marriage contract on 11 Nov 1658; this
contract was eventually annulled, as she changed her mind in favor of our
ancestor, Guillaume.
Pierre, the jilted lover, confronted Guillaume and demanded 50 livres in
damages. On 21 Sept 1659, Guillaume agreed before the notary to pay the
amount to Pierre.
Guillaume & Gabrielle married about a month later, on 14 Oct 1659 in Québec.
They settled on the Ile d'Orléans. The couple was among the earliest
settlers to Sainte Famille.
The 1667 census records Guillaume's age as 40 & his wife as being 25; they
had 15 arpents of land under cultivation.
The 1681 census shows they had 4 cattle.
On 27 Oct 1688, Guillaume split his farm between his two remaining
children-Claude got the western half and Marguerite got eastern half.
