My name is Shirley Domingue Metrejean. My husband Larry and I were "born
and raised" in Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. We are now living
in north Louisiana.
I became interested in family history 2 years ago when my oldest
granddaughter asked me why I had so many cousins. Answering her simple
question turned a hobby into a full time job which I dearly love!

I have researched my husband's ancestry and my ancestry; some lines back to
the 1600's. I have traced our roots back to Acadie, France, the Canary
Islands, Germany, and Ireland to Louisiana along the Mississippi River, the
Bayou Country, and finally in the heart of Cajun Country.

On my paternal side, the major lines are: Domingue, BOURG, Schexnaydre,
and Miguez.
The major lines on my maternal side are: PITRE, PREJEAN, Carroll, and
Whittington.
My husband's paternal side includes Metrejean/Maitrejean, BROUSSARD, and
Morales.
His maternal side includes: O'Donnell, ACHEE, Vicknair, and Couvellier.
The collateral lines: Borel, Etie, Romero, Naquin, and Normand.

I would be delighted to share information with "cousins".
