This info highlights the pitfall of using undocumented records. It mixes
info on different persons. Claude died at age 60 in St. Martinville and was
buried July 18, 1798 so he was born abt. 1738. Ambroise died at age 70 and
was bur. 14 Jan 1796 so he would have been born abt. 1726.
Claude's burial record shows that his father was Charles. SAW, p. 1133 shows
that Charles Martin was the son of Rene Martin dit Barnabe and Marie Mignier
dit LaGasse. He married Jeanne Comeau on 27 Nov 1715. SAW shows that he
has additional ionfo that will be published with the next volumes. Ambroise
and Joseph Martin were most likely brothers of Claude. Joseph is shown as
an uncle on some of the marriages of the children of Claude in St.
Martinville.

I have Claude b.1750 d.July 18, 1798 in St. Martinsville
His parents Ambroise Martin dit Barnabe and Emmiline Commeau and he has 4
siblings.
Anne-Marie Babin, I have only as Marie. Her parents are Pierre Babin and
Marie Landry.
I don't have any siblings for her or a b. or d. date.
My source was the World Family Tree Vol. 3, Ed. 1 and I know there can be
mistakes.
I have more conflicting info that Claude was born Dec. 27, 1730 in Acadie,
NS. Death date is the same but parents as Charles Martin and Jeanne Comeaux,
and he is married to Marie Babin.
I have probably caused you more grief.
Hopefully someone out there can help us clear this up.
